San Juanico Bridge is the longest bridge in the Philippines . It connects the islands of Samar and Leyte . It was built in the year 1973 under the Marcos administration. San Juanico Bridge has 43 spans rising 41 meters above the sea. Its longest length is a steel girder viaduct built on unbreakable concrete piers, and its main span is of an arch-shaped truss design and with a total length of 2.16 kilometers.
