The Bicycle

Baron Karl Drais he was born  in Karlsruhe on April 29, 1785 - December 10, 1851. Drais studied agriculture, architecture and physics at the University of Heidelberg in the year 1803 to 1805. Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Ludwig von Drais his father was the chief judge of Baden and his mother was Margarete Ernestine von Kaltenthal. A German inventor who  invented the Laufmaschine or Running Machine it is a type of pre-bicycle. It was invented in the year 1785-1851. The Laufmaschine was made of wood and had no pedals and a rider would push his feet against the ground to make the machine to move.
